We have put together answers to the questions our visitors ask us most, so you can arrive feeling prepared and ready to enjoy everything our seventeen acres have to offer. FAQ - Visitor Queries
Are pets permitted in the Gardens?
Pets are not permitted in the Gardens, for the care and safety of all visitors, special plants and garden wildlife. Registered service animals that are required by individual visitors are welcome.
Are the Gardens open on holidays?
Yes, the Gardens are open 7 days a week, holidays included, from May 1 - October 31. (In the "off season" we close on holidays.)
How long does it take to visit the Gardens?
We suggest you allow a minimum of an hour to visit the Gardens, and additional time if you want to linger, enjoy a bite at the Elm Tree Cafe or wish to explore the Gardens Shop.
When is the best time to visit the Gardens?
The Gardens are designed to provide a sequence of blossoms and highlights throughout the season, and even the year. We welcome you to explore our website to see how the Gardens look in the various seasons.
Are there EV charging stations nearby?
Yes! The Town of Annapolis Royal has a brand new fast charge EV station within easy walking distance of the Gardens.
Do I need to pay admission to the Gardens to access the Gardens Shop?
Because of the convenient location of the Shop in the entry area, visitors are welcome to come as far as the Gardens Shop without buying admission.
Do I need to pay admission to the Gardens to dine at the Elm Tree Cafe?
The Elm Tree Cafe is exclusively for Garden visitors and members.
Do you provide guided visits?
Typically, your visit will be self guided. We provide you with a free visitor map, and have staff on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Can I picnic in the Gardens?
We do not have picnic facilities in the Gardens. You are welcome to wander the Gardens with a coffee or snack in hand, and you can ask staff to direct you to nearby picnic parks.
What happens if it rains?
Gardens are lovely in the rain! We suggest you come prepared for weather conditions, but we do have some loaner umbrellas if you need one.
Are the Gardens wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the Gardens are accessible. As well, we have a wheelchair and scooters available for visitor use (by donation).
Where can I access first aid?
We have First Aid kits as well as an AED located in the Gardens Shop. If you are in trouble, please flag down a staff person for help.
Can I take photographs in the Gardens?
Of course! We encourage visitors to capture their memories and to share their photos on social media as they wish. Photos may not be reproduced without permission of the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens.
Are drones permitted in the Gardens?
No, drones are not permitted excepted when expressly approved by management for marketing or monitoring purposes.

What is the return policy?
Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn’t the case, let us know and we’ll do our best to work with you to make it right.
Are any purchases final sale?
We are unable to accept returns on certain items. These will be carefully marked before purchase.
When will I get my order?
We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.
Where are your products manufactured?
Most of our products are produced in Nova Scotia. We carefully select our artists, crafters and other suppliers to ensure our products are high quality and a fair value.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you purchase.
I bought tickets online - how will I get them?
Online admission purchases do not provide you with a physical ticket. Your order confirmation (either in print form or digital form) will serve as your "ticket" for admission purposes.
