Pewter Ornament "The Universal Hand of Mankind"

Our 2017 ornament is a beautiful brushed pewter design representing "The Universal Hand of Mankind", originally created for the Historic Gardens by Tom Forrestall and now rendered in pewter by Fred Weidhaas of Round Hill Pewter. Tom generously created this image at the Gardens’ inception to represent the Historic Gardens and our heritage, and decades later this artwork continues to have a place of honour in our hearts and in our fundraising initiatives.

His description:
The hand holds within its grasp flowers representing the Native Mi’kmaq (mayflower), Acadian (iris) and British (rose) heritage of Annapolis Royal. It reaches outward to pass this heritage on to succeeding generations”.

Crafted by Round Hill Pewter of Bridgetown, NS, the ornament is approximately 2.5 inches by 2 inches, and the design is raised for a 3-dimensional relief effect.
